Ceramic Coating and Autobahn Ceramic i3 Tint on 2024 Dodge Durango
At our shop, we recently had the pleasure of working with a returning client who previously entrusted us with his Dodge Charger. This time, he brought in his brand-new 2024 Dodge Durango for the ultimate protection and style upgrade. We installed Autobahn Ceramic i3 window tint and applied a premium ceramic coating to this SUV, ensuring it would look great and stay protected for years to come.
Our client knew the benefits of quality automotive protection from his past experience with us. On his Charger, we had applied window tint, ceramic coating, and paint protection film (PPF), keeping it in pristine condition. This time, he wanted the same exceptional care for his Durango, and we were more than ready to deliver.

The Autobahn Ceramic i3 Window Tint Installation
For this project, Jose handled the installation of the Autobahn Ceramic i3 window tint. This tint not only enhances the vehicle’s appearance with a sleek, dark finish but also provides substantial heat rejection and UV protection. The ceramic technology in the tint blocks out harmful UV rays, reducing interior fading and protecting the passengers from exposure. Additionally, it keeps the cabin cooler during hot days, improving comfort and reducing the need for air conditioning.
Ceramic Coating Application
Meanwhile, Mike and Jared got to work on applying a ceramic coating to the exterior of the Durango. Ceramic coating creates a strong, hydrophobic layer over the paint, offering protection against dirt, grime, bird droppings, and harsh weather conditions. The hydrophobic properties mean water beads up and rolls off, making cleaning the vehicle a breeze. The ceramic coating also adds a high-gloss finish, making the Durango’s paint pop with depth and clarity.
Ceramic Coating vs. Paint Protection Film (PPF)
While both ceramic coating and PPF offer excellent protection, they serve slightly different purposes. Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds with the paint, providing protection against environmental contaminants and making the surface easier to clean. However, it does not provide significant impact resistance.
On the other hand, PPF is a clear, thick film that offers a physical barrier against rock chips, scratches, and other abrasions. It’s ideal for high-impact areas like the front bumper, hood, and side mirrors. For those looking for maximum protection, combining ceramic coating with PPF can provide both impact resistance and enhanced surface protection.
The Final Result
The completed project exceeded expectations. The Autobahn Ceramic i3 tint gave the Durango a sophisticated look while delivering top-notch heat and UV rejection.
