A Month to Remember: September 2025 at Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings

When you look back at September 2025 for Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings, what stands out most is energy—electric, community-driven, hopeful. The month was a whirlwind of ambitious vehicle transformations, community-driven events, charitable giving, and momentum-building for the months ahead. We had so much going on, it’s almost hard to cram it all into one narrative — but that’s exactly what we’re going to do. So buckle up.

Pushing the Limits of Protection & Transformation

At the core of what we do is taking the ordinary and elevating it: safeguarding finishes, creating show-quality gloss, and protecting vehicles for the long haul. In September, we tackled some dream projects that pushed our team’s technical skills and creativity to the edge.

  • Color-change Tesla Cybertruck (Cyberbeast → Satin Graphite Gray)
One of the bigger head-turners of the month was turning a Tesla Cybertruck — arguably one of the boldest vehicle canvases out there — from its original look into a sleek
Satin Graphite Gray. The process involved film wrapping / color change vinyl (or a specialized wrap), paint correction prior to application, and finishing with top-tier coatings to ensure longevity and aesthetic harmony.
  • Tesla Model Y + More PPF Projects
We layered paint protection film (PPF) on a Tesla Model Y, focusing on high-impact zones like hood, fenders, mirrors, rocker panels, and bumper edges. Each cut, edge, contour, and heat shrink needs careful attention to avoid film lifting or distortion.
  • Corvette Frenzy
Corvettes seemed to be everywhere in September for us. From C6s to C8s, we installed full-body PPF, performed paint correction, and applied ceramic coatings to enhance gloss and resistance to contamination. The C8 Stingray, in particular, posed a fun challenge with its aggressive lines and tight curves.
  • Suburban Full-Body PPF
Big vehicles demand big focus. Coating or wrapping a full-size Suburban (especially end to end) means more seams, more careful heating, and more film real estate. That said, we delivered full-body PPF on one and paired it with ceramic coating to seal and protect.
  • Ford F350 Dually — Polish + Coating
One of the tougher jobs was a heavy-duty F350 dually. After careful multi-stage polishing to remove swirls and micro-marring, we applied a robust ceramic coating suited for work trucks—balancing gloss and durability over showcar perfection.

Through all that, we also processed ~150 window tint jobs — everything from sedans, trucks, to SUVs — which represents a massive throughput for a single month. And thanks to consistent quality, we were rewarded with ~100 new five-star Google reviews, inching us closer to our long-term goal of 1,000 stellar reviews.

Why PPF + Ceramic Coating (and Where Each Fits In)

No blog post about our work would be complete without a short explainer: Why use Paint Protection Film (PPF)? Why also do ceramic coating? What are the tradeoffs?

  • Paint Protection Film (PPF): A clear, thermoplastic urethane film that acts as a physical barrier. It’s excellent for protecting against rock chips, road debris, scrapes, and minor abrasions. The film can be self-healing (small scratches will “disappear” under heat) and typically lasts 5–10+ years when properly installed.
  • Ceramic Coating: A liquid polymer that forms a chemical bond with the surface (paint or film) and provides hydrophobic properties, gloss enhancement, UV protection, and resistance to chemical etching (e.g. bird droppings, acid rain). The drawback: it does not reliably protect against rock chips or deep scratches.
  • Combined Approach: Many high-end detailers (ourselves included) apply a layered approach — PPF on high-impact areas + ceramic coating over the entire vehicle (including the PPF). This gives you both impact resistance and the ease-of-cleaning, slick finish of ceramic.

In practice, for clients who drive highways, live in rural areas, or do long-distance trips, the combined PPF + ceramic route is often the best value. For show or daily drivers in mild conditions, full ceramic alone may suffice with lower cost.

Hearts Big, Giving Bigger: Charities & Community Events

Beyond the cars, the soul of our operation is community — and September was a banner month on that front.

Big Love Cancer Care

On September 14, we hosted our biggest car meet ever. Over 100 cars rolled in, but more importantly, we used it as a platform for giving. With free pony rides, live music (Noah Derrick), Kona Ice, food vendors, and more, we charged the atmosphere with fun and fellowship. At the end of the day, we raised over $1,200 for Big Love Cancer Care.

What is Big Love Cancer Care? It’s a Texas nonprofit organization that supports children with cancer—helping with emotional, physical, and financial burdens. The group serves families across 10 Texas hospitals, offering programs like toy closets, counseling, rent/gas assistance, meal services, and more. BIG Love Cancer Care+3BIG Love Cancer Care+3BIG Love Cancer Care+3 The funds we raised will go directly to helping ease that journey for those families in our region—something we’re deeply proud to support.

Mary Kay Ash Foundation & 5K Run

We also signed up for the Mary Kay Ash Foundation 5K run this month. The Mary Kay Ash Foundation focuses on fundraising and distributing grants toward cancers affecting women as well as ending domestic violence. Mary Kay Ash Foundation By aligning with them, we hope to contribute to broader cancer research and advocacy efforts in women’s health.

Local Giving – Nolanville & Fire Department

We try to give locally, too:

  • $500 donated to the Nolanville Food Pantry (helping families in immediate need)
  • $250 donated to the Nolanville Fire Department, a volunteer organization vital to local safety
  • The Nolanville Fire Department (Robert W. Cunningham, Fire Chief) is the city’s public safety arm. Nolanville, Texas
  • It evolved from a volunteer fire department to a city-run model as of October 2023, amid transitions of emergency services contracts. 25 News KXXV and KRHD
  • We’ve also formed a Facebook group to coordinate future events and charity efforts, and are planning Trunk or Treat (Oct 24, 6–8pm) plus live music and more for the fall.

Highlights, Lessons, and What’s Next

High Points & Wins

  1. Technical mastery across diverse vehicles — from Teslas to heavy-duty trucks to full-size SUVs.
  2. Community resonance — the car meet drew strong attendance and support, not just from car enthusiasts but from families, neighbors, and volunteers.
  3. Charitable impact — direct funds to Big Love Cancer Care, Nolanville fire and food needs, and partnering with Mary Kay Ash’s mission.
  4. Operational growth — 150 tints, 100 glowing reviews, budding event infrastructure.
  5. Brand momentum — we gained more local visibility and goodwill, setting up strong positioning for Q4.

Lessons & Takeaways

  • Logistics for big events matter. The car show required traffic flow, parking plans, volunteer coordination, vendor logistics, and smooth communication. We learned timing, buffer zones, and signage are essential.
  • Client education is key. Not every customer comes in knowing what PPF or ceramic coating really does (or doesn’t). Having visual aids, test panels, and explained trade-offs helps them make confident decisions.
  • Staff bandwidth and capacity. With so many complex jobs stacked in one month, making sure each technician had adequate rest and backup was critical. Burnout is a real risk.
  • Charity integration must be genuine. Our giveaways, donation drives, and event causes must align authentically with our brand; tokenism doesn’t land. We’re glad Big Love and Mary Kay align deeply with health, hope, and community uplift.

What’s Ahead: Autumn & Beyond

  • Trunk or Treat — October 24, 6–8 pm. Expect candy, costumes, car displays, music, and community fun.
  • More live music events — we’ll build on the momentum from Noah Derrick’s set in Sept.
  • Deeper charity partnerships — more fundraising, volunteering, and co-branded events with Big Love and Mary Kay Ash.
  • Greater coverage goals — push toward 1,000 five-star reviews, expand to adjacent markets (Temple, Killeen, Nolanville), and host quarterly car meets.
  • Refining offerings — more bundled packages (e.g. PPF + coating + interior detail) with upgrade paths to upsell and delight.

Final Thoughts

September 2025 will go down as a turning point for Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings—not just in terms of revenue or vehicles served, but in shaping our identity as more than a shop: as a community hub, a charity anchor, and a craft house where excellence and empathy go hand in hand.

We’re grateful to every customer, every donor, every volunteer, and every car lover who showed up this month. Whether you drove in for a tint or joined us at the meet, your presence helped propel this momentum.

Let’s make the rest of 2025 even more spectacular.

Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings Thanksgiving / Shutdown Fundraiser Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings, a small business that is focused on helping the community, located in Nolanville, TX, is looking to raise funds (we will match every dollar up to $2000) to feed those in need this holiday season. We donate to the Nolanville food pantry (this will not affect our donations), cancer charities, and much more. We also pick one person per month to give a $250 HEB gift card to, to buy groceries. Initially, we were going to buy turkeys and Thanksgiving meals for people, but being in a military town during the shutdown with people unsure of future paychecks, we thought this might be a better option to allow people to buy what they want. Right now, we have over 100 nominations for the $250 gift card and can’t possibly fulfill every person as they come pouring in each day. We will use this money to buy $100 gift cards for more people. Any money above and beyond the goal of $2000 will go towards more gift cards. Please join us in helping those in need! Matthew Jones Owner, Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings
