What Is HHCC? The Story Behind Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings in Nolanville, TX

If you’ve spent any time around Central Texas car culture — from Killeen and Harker Heights to Copperas Cove and Nolanville — you’ve probably heard the name HHCC. Maybe it was on a freshly tinted Tesla, a C8 Corvette wrapped in paint protection film, or a friend’s daily driver that suddenly looks brand new again.

But what exactly is HHCC? And why does that name — short, simple, and easy to remember — carry so much recognition in the Central Texas automotive community?

Well, the short answer: HHCC stands for Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings. The long answer is a story about passion, precision, and building something that started in a garage and became one of the most respected names in automotive protection in the region.

From Hobby to Household Name

When I first started HHCC, it wasn’t a big shop — it was just me, my tools, and a deep appreciation for cars. I was obsessed with the incredible ease of cleaning and long-term protection that ceramic coatings provided. My own truck, a Ford F-250, was my test subject. I loved how easily it cleaned, how deep the shine was, and how the paint stayed pristine under the brutal Texas sun.

At the time, we lived in Harker Heights. I decided to turn this passion into something more official — to do things the right way. That meant setting up a legitimate business: registering an LLC, getting insurance, and operating as a real company, not just a side hustle.

And since we were in Harker Heights, the name came naturally: Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings — or HHCC for short.

The Meaning Behind the Logo

When it came time to design a logo, I wanted something clean and strong — something that could stand the test of time. The result was what you see today: two interlocking “H”s with an inlaid “C” on another “C,” forming the symmetrical HHCC mark.

The design was simple but symbolic. It represented craftsmanship and balance — the same qualities that define the work we do on every vehicle that comes through our doors.

But I didn’t stop there. I took the extra step to register HHCC as a trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. That process took nearly two years from start to finish, but it was worth it. Today, HHCC is a federally recognized mark — the only one of its kind in the country.

You can even find the active record on the USPTO website under trademark number 97145368. You can see the active listing here.

Why HHCC Stayed HHCC — Even After Moving to Nolanville

BFast forward a few years, and the “garage phase” was over. HHCC had grown quickly, and it was time for a bigger, more professional space. We found the perfect spot just three minutes down the road — at 103 S Main Street in Nolanville, TX, right behind CEFCO and next to Caliber Collision.

The question we got right away was:

“If you’re in Nolanville now, why are you still called Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings?”

It’s a fair question — and one we actually love to answer.

The truth is, the name Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings had already become known and trusted. Customers from Fort Cavazos, Copperas Cove, and Belton already knew “HHCC.” We had hundreds of reviews, returning customers, and a growing community that associated that name with quality and integrity.

Changing the name just because of a three-minute move would have meant giving up a brand people already believed in.

And besides, we like to joke:

“Only one of the three New York football teams actually plays in New York!”

The New York Giants and New York Jets both play in East Rutherford, New Jersey — and nobody’s calling them the “New Jersey Giants.” If they can keep their name, so can we!

So yes — we’re proudly based in Nolanville, but our name remains Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings. The community knows us as HHCC, and that’s not changing anytime soon.
