At Harker Heights Ceramic Coatings, we have a soft spot for Subaru WRX STis, as we had a Subaru WRX all the way back in 2005-2007 ourselves. The WRX is a great platform and fun to drive, which is all the more reason to protect them with either clear bra or ceramic coating, or both. We previously ceramic coated this Subaru WRX STi with a five-year ceramic coating, and it was due for an annual inspection, ceramic coating top off, engine bay detail, and it needed to have a couple panels that were damaged in an accident re-coated.
We had also previously completed a wheels-off ceramic coating package for this Killeen-area client, prior to him installing the wheels on the car. For this project we used SB3 Coatings Alpha five-year ceramic coating, American Detailer Garage Shield (for the engine bay), and a lot of ADG F-Bomb for the engine bay. For this vehicle, we used Legend Paint Protection Films. We talked a lot in a FAQ article about what the major differences are between clear bra/paint protection film/PPF companies, if any, between major film manufacturers like Xpel, SunTek, Eastman, Llumar, 3M,, STEK, Flexishield, Global, Legend and more. The key takeaway is that the primary differences are in the properties of the adhesive, which installers have to deal with, but generally, don’t affect anything the client sees.
